Seun Kuti calls out P-square over the hypocrisy of the upcoming presidential elections
-
Seun Kuti strikes back at Mr. P for criticising him over Peter Obi.
Peter Okoye widely known as Mr. P, one-half of the musical duo P-Square, has been publicly chastised by Nigerian singer Seun Kuti over the coming elections.
Seun Kuti who lambasted Peter Okoye in a live video session on his Instagram page claimed that the singer is a part of the problem while posturing as the country’s saviour.
In the video, he asserted that those who are truly affected by the issue are the ones who care about preserving the nation—not the people who created and benefited from the issue.
He went on to remark that Peter Okoye and others who have been supporting their preferred presidential candidates have been campaigning and claiming to have the solution to the nation’s issues. However, the very same Peter Okoye has previously hosted and dined with powerful politicians and wealthy businessmen.
Seun Kuti further asserted that he would neither entertain nor dine with politicians. He also claimed that his song is not being played on the radio or television because politicians control the media.

He reprimanded Peter Okoye, saying that people should not view him as someone who is genuinely concerned about the state of the nation since he is also contributing to the issue and that talent is different from intelligence.
In his words;
“The people that are going through the pain of this country are the ones that can save this country, not the ones that are causing it and benefiting from it. See After P-square don do enough shows for all the rich men of this country and all the politicians of this country, na today Peter wan dey tell me say he knows what is good for Nigeria.
We wey abstain from that scene, we refuse to koto, we refuse to bow, we refuse to sing any song wey them go like. No politician can hear any of my songs and smile. That’s why my song is on the radio, because they own all the radio, that’s why my song is not on the TV, because they own all the TV, that’s why all these social media boys don’t praise my song, you know why because these motherf**kers own them.
After they played the game, they hyped them up, they sit down here with you, coming to tell you today coming to tell you that they love you, why didn’t they love you ten years ago? Ask P-square why didn’t they love you twenty years ago. When they were jumping up and down with PDP all over the place.”
