In a shocking turn of events, the talented artist Black Sherif was arrested at Kotoka International Airport yesterday evening. According to reliable sources, the Ghana Police apprehended him upon his arrival on July 19, 2023.
Reports from Nkonkonsa unveil the reason behind Black Sherif’s arrest, linking it to a cruise ship company’s dispute. Allegedly, the “Soja” hitmaker was accused of accepting payment and contracts for a cruise ship event organized by Cruise People Limited (Your Cruise People), but he failed to fulfill his obligations.
The management of Mohammed Sherrif (Black Sherif) had been contracted by Cruise People Ltd. for a special performance onboard the Afro Cruise Jam, a musical cruise taking place in Greece on August 19, 2023.
The cruise had previously featured renowned artists like Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage and Abrantie Amakye Dede with his Apollo High-Kings.
To secure his participation, Cruise People Ltd. paid Black Sherif a substantial fee of forty thousand dollars ($40,000), with an initial payment of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000). However, the dispute arose when the artist allegedly refused to record a video confirming his appearance and availability for the specified show on the cruise ship.
The company had scheduled a media event with Multimedia Group to announce Black Sherif’s performance, but he failed to comply with the agreement, leading to his arrest.
