Selena Gomez opens up about being single for five years in a new interview.
American award-winning artist Selena Gomez recently provided an explanation for the six-year delay in releasing her latest track, “Single Soon.”
In a recent interview with Pop Crush, the “Ice Cream” hitmaker revealed that her new song was actually written six years ago, back when she wasn’t single. Before its release, the song underwent a reproduction process and now, according to Selena, it sounds “amazing,” and she takes pride in it.
Dishing on why she didn’t release it back then, Gomez responded, “I didn’t release it back then because I wasn’t in that place.”
Following her breakup, Selena addressed a new chapter in her life, stating, “Genuinely I feel so happy, and I haven’t been in a relationship in five years and I’m happy as can be, and feel like I’m finally in a place where like whatever comes my way it’ll just add to my life, it won’t take anything away.”
According to the Fetish singer, she wanted to release a catchy song that could be “interpreted in so many different ways” to make it entertaining for everyone.
Nevertheless, Single Soon was released available last month on August 25, the same day that Miley Cyrus launched her brand-new song Used to Be Young.
Selena may be seen having fun with her friends on a night out, hanging out at a sleepover, and swimming in a pool in the music video.
In addition to filming Selena + Chef, she is now working on her upcoming music album.
