Check out what Shatta Wale had to say about Black Sherif, record labels, and music royalties in Ghana.
Top Ghanaian dancehall recording and performing artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, better known by his stage name, Shatta Wale has hinted at one of the major causes of the victories of the drill sensation, Black Sherif in the music scene.
Shatta Wale claimed that Blacko’s success in the music business is a result of the record label to which he has been signed in an interview with Metro TV’s Paul Adom-Otchere for the Good Evening Ghana segment.
He clarified that the record label’s sole function is to assume management of the musician’s managerial activities and to manage the musician so that he can advance in his artistic endeavours.

Shatta went further by saying that most musicians in Ghana are not fully registered to record labels, hence the majority manage and control the affairs of their music craft by themselves and invest into their own craft.
He added that Blacko happens to be the only musician in Ghana to be fully registered with a record label in Ghana.

This comes after Shatta Wale’s former manager, Bullgod stated that Black Sherif’s album will do better on the music market than that of Shatta and Sarkodie because Black Sherif has a record label backing him.
He stated that Shatta Wale and Sarkodie’s album could not compete with Black Sherif in terms of sales and audience reach during an interview with Doreen Avio on Hitz FM.
