This comes a few days after Wizkid broke a new record by being the first African musician in history to achieve an unprecedented feat after his album ‘Made In Lagos’ bagged a US certification.
Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos‘ album was certified gold by the RIAA in the United States, making him the only African musician to receive this honour.
The album, which was released on October 29, 2020, was certified gold by the RIAA on August 25, 2022, after selling more than 500,000 units in the United States.
Although African songs have been RIAA certified, this is the first time an African album has received such an honour.
