Samklef slams Portable for abrupt tour cancellation
After Portable publicly expressed his support for Seun Kuti, music producer Samklef has criticized the singer for ending his international tour early.
In a scathing Instagram Live video, Samklef questioned Portable’s motives and professionalism, saying, “Why are you rushing back to Nigeria? You just cancelled your tour without giving a valid reason. Are you tired of paying hotel fees?” This came after Portable inserted himself into Samklef’s controversy with Seun Kuti.
Samklef and Seun Kuti have been at loggerheads for weeks, exchanging insults. Portable’s live session to slam Samklef in support of Seun Kuti has further intensified the situation, raising eyebrows among fans.
Following Samklef’s allegation, fans have started questioning Portable’s decision to cut his tour short. The reason behind Portable’s cancellation remains unclear, and the artist has yet to provide any explanations or context to Samklef’s statement.

The drama began when Seun Kuti posted on Instagram, asserting that he only responds to artists with Grammy nominations, which Samklef perceived as a personal insult.
In a series of posts, Samklef accused Seun Kuti of relying on his father’s legacy, the legendary Fela Kuti, and challenged his fans to name one hit song by Seun.
He even offered a N500,000 reward to anyone who could do so. Samklef further sparked outrage by stating that Seun’s Grammy nomination is not equivalent to winning the award, and claiming that Seun’s older brother, Femi Kuti, is the only true son of Fela Kuti
