I never touched or beat Mohbad – Sam Larry breaks silence on viral video

Controversial Lagos socialite Sam Larry has once again responded to longstanding allegations linking him to the harassment and alleged assault of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
In a recent interview, Larry insisted he never laid a hand on the singer and claimed he had been falsely accused.
Addressing a viral video that resurfaced after Mohbad’s death in September 2023, Larry admitted to confronting the singer but strongly denied any form of physical altercation.
He said the confrontation was strictly over an unpaid debt during a music video shoot and was not an act of violence.
“I did not threaten Mohbad with boys. I only went to the beach to buy something for my child. When I got there, I saw Mohbad and others shooting a video, so I approached them, and some of the beach boys followed me,” Larry explained.
According to him, the tension at the scene escalated when he demanded payment, but the matter was quickly defused by fellow artist Zlatan Ibile, who intervened.
“When I reached where the video was being shot, I told Mohbad he would not leave if he didn’t pay the money he owed me. Zlatan held me back and told me I had passed that level, and that was how the matter ended.”
Larry also refuted claims that he or Naira Marley, the head of Marlian Records, ever attacked Mohbad, directly or indirectly. He maintained that he was unfairly targeted after the singer filed a police petition accusing him of assault and claiming that thugs linked to the Elegushi family were sent to harm him.
“Naira Marley did not see him because I was behind. I have never in my life touched Mohbad or attempted to beat him,” he said.
