Saka beats Haaland, Caicedo to the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year award
Bukayo Saka has been honored with the Men’s PFA Young Player of the Year award, recognizing his pivotal role in Arsenal’s unexpected surge for the title.
In a competitive field that included Premier League’s top scorer Erling Haaland and midfield standout Moises Caicedo, Saka emerged victorious and was presented with the esteemed accolade at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester. His personal attendance marked the occasion.
Saka’s contributions were instrumental in propelling Arsenal to their most impressive season in nearly two decades, leading the Premier League title race until May, when Manchester City caught up. Across the campaign, he netted 14 goals and provided eight assists, significantly influencing Mikel Arteta’s squad.
In addition to surpassing Haaland and Caicedo for the Young Player of the Year award, the 21-year-old triumphed over fellow Arsenal teammate Gabriel Martinelli, Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey, and Brighton’s young striker Evan Ferguson.
Saka’s next appearance on the field will be for Arsenal as they face Manchester United on Sunday.
