Rwanda Rumoured To Host First African Grammy Awards.
The Recording Academy, professionally known as The Grammys, is rumoured to host its first Awards ceremony in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, in 2025.
This was hinted at following a report of the Academy’s decision to choose Kigali as its first music centre.
Kigali was selected as the music academy’s first centre as part of its intention to make Africa the next destination, choosing five cities as regional hubs, which include Lagos, Johannesburg, Nairobi and Abidjan.
The Recording Academy also wishes to guarantee that when songs are aired, musicians will be paid royalties, and In 2025/ 2026, the inaugural African Grammy Awards will take place in the regional offices, the report added.
Every year, all artists worldwide are recognized for their achievements through the Grammy Awards, the most coveted award in the music business. With this, many people consider the awards the most important and prestigious in the global music industry.
