It is a wish come true for Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, better known by her stage name Ayra Starr, whose hit song Rush recently crossed 100 million views on YouTube.
The song, which debuted on the platform five months ago, has amassed 101 million views so far.
Also, Rush is ranked sixth among the most popular music videos on YouTube.
Only a week ago when the video was still at 95 Million views, the 21-year-old singer revealed that she had no idea how she would react if this happened, and she also took her fans back to the beginning of her music career.
In a tweet, Ayra says that just two years ago, she was a common girl from Agbado Ijaiye who had not yet achieved any achievement in music.
In her words;
“I really don’t even know what I’m gonna do when rush hits a 100mill on YouTube, do I cry , do I jump ?? God 2 years ago I was just a small girl from Agbado ijaiye”

In a previous interview with Cool FM, disclosed that the song was a way for her to comfort herself through an episode of uncertainty she was battling.
She disclosed that creating the song gave her confidence, which is why it is all about her showing herself that she can be responsible for the choices she makes in life.
“When I made Rush, I was in a phase where I was unsure of myself. And I grew up, a confident person. I felt like everything was someone else’s idea, it wasn’t me, so I wanted to find myself, be in charge, take agency and that’s when I made Rush,” she recalls.
