Afrobeats star Ruger has stepped forward to shut down growing online rumours suggesting he has a conflict with Davido, stressing that there is absolutely no issue between them.

The singer clarified on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, after a fan account on X reignited claims that Ruger’s success hinged on seeking Davido’s forgiveness.
The account, @DavidoPolice, had posted: “When you’re ready apologize and beg Davido publicly, your song will enter No 1.”
Ruger wasted no time in responding.
“And did Davido tell you I did anything wrong to him?” he asked sharply, before going on to reaffirm his admiration for the DMW boss.
He continued: “I love Davido and I know he loves me too. People on his team still repost my shit. I will never believe this agenda that he doesn’t f**k with me except he says it to my face or publicly. But if him talk am, everywhere go first blur Sha.”

By addressing the claims head-on, Ruger appeared intent on distancing himself from the fan-driven rivalry conversations that frequently dominate Afrobeats spaces, especially those involving the ‘Big Three’ Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy.
Ruger, who has occasionally been linked with Wizkid FC due to online interactions, emphasised that whatever tension fans imagine simply does not exist in reality.
As of now, Davido has not issued any public reaction. However, Ruger’s comments contribute to a growing trend among Nigerian artists of pushing back against narratives fueled by stan culture, insisting that the real relationships behind the scenes are far less dramatic than social media portrays.
