I slacked, didn’t feel like myself anymore – Ruger
Nigerian artist Michael Adebayo Olayinka, widely known as Ruger, opened up about his experiences in 2023, acknowledging that he faced setbacks due to the influence of the “wrong people” around him.
Ruger explained that the negative energy from these individuals had a profound impact, causing him to lose touch with himself. However, he has made a conscious decision to leave those influences behind in 2023 and is determined to embrace a new persona in 2024.
In a statement shared via his Instagram, Ruger expressed, “2023, I slacked. I had the wrong people around me and I let them affect my energy. It got to a point that I didn’t feel like Ruger anymore. Anyways, I’ve left each and everyone of them in 2023. In 2024, I am a mad, dangerous, selfish and loving man.”
This declaration suggests Ruger’s commitment to personal growth and a more positive and assertive mindset in the coming year.
In other news, Ruger’s chart-topping single, “Asiwaju,” claims the top spot on the list, solidifying its status as a hit across various African regions. Following closely at number 2 is Ayra Starr’s international success, “Rush,” which not only received acclaim but also earned her a Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance.
