Ruger announces music release on X
After resolving his feuds, Nigerian artist Ruger is set to release a new hit, announcing the upcoming music drop ahead of the new month.
On May 30, 2024, Ruger took to social media to share the news. Embracing his Yoruba heritage, he posted new pictures and captioned them, “Segun is dropping new music June 5th. Y’all know Segun doesn’t give a fuck xx.” While Segun isn’t his real name, it suggests that the new single might be titled “Segun.”
Ruger recently collaborated with Bnxn (formerly Buju) on a joint EP. Known for his advocacy of unity, Ruger has previously called for collaborations between prominent artists Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy. His upcoming release on June 5 has already generated significant excitement among fans.

During an appearance on Madame Joyce’s ‘Cocktails & Takeaways’ podcast, Ruger, made a surprising revelation—he has never experienced heartbreak.
Ruger candidly shared that despite his desire to understand the emotions associated with heartbreak, he has yet to encounter it in his life.
He said, “I have never been heartbroken. But I’m waiting [for it]. I know that it is going to happen at some point.
“Where are the wicked women? Come and show me pepper. Come out and show me what you can do.”
On his ideal woman, Ruger said he loves funny women.
“When you’re funny, you already have 20 percent of my heart. You have to be very funny. I have to see the humour from afar then I will be moving close,” the singer added.
