How a customer stole my phone when I was an apprentice at Computer Village – Ruger
Ruger has recounted how his phone was stolen while he was working at Computer Village in Lagos State.
The ‘Girlfriend‘ singer revealed that he had recently graduated from high school and had taken a job as an apprentice for a phone technician.
Ruger reported that his phone was stolen by a client who came to his place for repairs during an interview with Susan Pwajok on Glitch Africa’s “Surviving Lagos” podcast series.
The artiste claims that the man came to their store to get his phone fixed, but his boss left to go make a purchase, leaving just the two of them.
He stated that he observed the customer eyeing his phone and eventually informed Ruger that he liked the gadget.
He eventually expressed desire in eating shawarma, and the “Diro” crooner told him that there was a place that sold close by.

The customer offered Ruger N1,000 and asked for assistance in purchasing the shawarma, adding that he could also do it for himself. He planned to keep the remaining N500 and only purchase one shawarma for the man.
However, when he returned to the shop, he discovered that the man had vanished with his phone.
The singer claimed that his former employer disclosed that he had met the man as he was leaving for home and that he had promised to return later.
