After his outburst in the early hours of April 11, 2024, Afrobeat artist Ruger issued an apology to all those affected by his online commotion.

Taking to his social media platform, Ruger offered an explanation for his departure from Jonzing World, owned by D’Prince.

In his statement, he outlined his reasons for leaving, expressing dissatisfaction with the management’s approach and their perceived neglect of his career’s trajectory. Ruger’s candid remarks shed light on the challenges he faced within the label, ultimately leading to his decision to part ways.

He said “As much as I’m very appreciative of the fact that Jonzing world introduced me to the world, I just couldn’t continue with them because they got too comfortable with the money they were making from me and couldn’t push me further as I wanted to be pushed. Was supposed to renegotiate the contract but I couldn’t imagine 5 years more without action.”

Following his outburst, Ruger chose to adopt a new approach and extend apologies to all parties affected by his actions.

He took to Instagram Live to address his fans and anyone who may have been disappointed by his behavior and public criticism of his former label.

Ruger’s decision to apologize demonstrates his willingness to take accountability for his actions and move forward with a more positive outlook.

He said, “I won’t say I don’t care what people are saying about me, it’s only what people are saying about me that would make me act out like that. Please, cut me some slack, I love this music that I’m doing and I’ve been happy doing it”.

During his Instagram Live session, Ruger reiterated his admiration for D’Prince, the owner of Jonzing World, and extended heartfelt apologies to him and his fans.

He expressed gratitude to those who reached out and intervened, acknowledging their support and guidance during a challenging time. Ruger’s gestures demonstrate his sincerity and desire to mend relationships and move forward positively.

“I won’t lie, I’m still hurt… I’m really sorry to my fans, I love and respect everyone at Jonzing”
