AC Milan are closing in on Ruben Loftus Cheek permanent deal.
The transfer of Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea to AC Milan is about to be finalized.
The 27-year-old, whose contract at Chelsea expires next summer, will join Serie A after the two clubs agreed on a cost of around £15 million plus add-ons.
On what is anticipated to be a four-year contract, the player has agreed to personal terms.
The centre midfielder will join Fikayo Tomori, a former Chelsea teammate, in Milan. Tomori, 25, who is also a graduate of Chelsea’s academy, came to Milan in January 2021, originally on loan.
Loftus-Cheek made his Chelsea debut in 2014, however, it was during the 2017–18 season while on loan at Crystal Palace that he earned his Premier League debut.
The England international shone at Selhurst Park before moving on to Chelsea the next season, when he had his finest scoring season to date, with 10 goals in all competitions.
Loftus-Cheek, on the other hand, ruptured his Achilles during a friendly match against the New England Revolution in July 2019, which sidelined him for over a year.
He subsequently spent the 2020-2021 season on loan at Fulham before rejoining Chelsea for the next two seasons.
Loftus-Cheek has struggled with injuries throughout his Chelsea career, but he made 33 appearances in all competitions last season for the west London club, who have since hired Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager.
In 155 games for Chelsea in all competitions, Loftus-Cheek scored 13 goals. Although he hasn’t played for his country since 2018, he has also played 10 times for England.
AC Milan opened talks for Loftus Cheek in May as top target for Paolo Maldini…
Despite Maldini being fired few weeks ago, Milan never changed their mind on RLC.
