Rexxie thanks Davido for his words of encouragement during his arrest in Uganda
On March 11, 2024, Nigerian record producer Rexxie found himself reportedly detained in Uganda. Despite the circumstances, the Grammy-certified producer expressed his gratitude towards Davido, who offered words of encouragement during his time of incarceration.
Rexxie took to his Instagram account on Monday morning to disclose that he had been detained by Ugandan immigration. While he deemed his arrest “unfair,” he did not specify the exact reasons behind it.
Rexxie turned to his followers for support, urging them to advocate for his release. He pleaded via Instagram, stating, “I’ve been arrested at the Ugandan Immigration. “Please, I need help.” Later that day, he expressed his appreciation to Davido, who had reached out to him during the ordeal.
Rexxie tagged Davido, acknowledging him as someone who stands out, and wrote, “@davido 001. Your message gave me peace of mind! You’re different.”

The Ugandan authorities also detained other Nigerian artists, including Tems and Omah Lay, who had performed at a concert in defiance of COVID-19 regulations. After spending two days in custody, Tems and Omah Lay were eventually released.
