Veteran Nigerian rapper Reminisce has officially revealed plans to drop a new album in September 2025, marking another significant milestone in his celebrated music journey.

The announcement was made via his social media platforms on July 30, 2025, where the hip-hop icon shared that the forthcoming project will be his eighth overall, following a discography that includes five full-length albums and two EPs.
Although the album’s title remains under wraps, anticipation is already building among fans eager to experience Reminisce’s signature blend of rap, fuji, and Afrobeats, a fusion that has become a defining element of his artistry.
The new project will be a follow-up to his 2024 extended play, ‘Sui Generis,’ which featured notable collaborations with Vector, BadBoy Timz, and Bhadboi OML, among others. That EP continued Reminisce’s streak of genre-bending releases and showcased his ability to evolve with the times while staying rooted in his indigenous sound.
Reminisce, often regarded as one of Nigeria’s most impactful rappers, rose to fame with his 2012 debut album, ‘Book of Rap Stories,’ and cemented his place in the industry with the widely acclaimed ‘Alaga Ibile,’ which reportedly sold over 13 million units through Alaba’s famed physical distribution channels.

His third album, ‘Baba Hafusa,’ arrived during the early days of music streaming in Nigeria. Reminisce described it as a response to the evolving landscape, designed to resonate with a growing audience of digital-first listeners.
The album’s impact was historic; ‘Baba Hafusa’ debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard World Albums Chart, making Reminisce the first African rapper to achieve such a feat. He repeated the success with his fourth album, ‘El Hadj,’ which entered the same chart at No. 13, earning him another groundbreaking record as the first African rapper with two Billboard-charting albums.
As the countdown to September begins, Reminisce’s upcoming release is poised to not only add to his rich legacy but also to reinforce his position as one of the continent’s most influential rap voices.
