Rema’s Calm Down remix featuring Selena Gomez was released on the 25th of August and was shortly followed up with a video.
The video also set a new record by becoming the Nigerian music video to gross the highest view count in a day with 3.2 million views. The record had also upon its release peaked at the number one position on Billboard US Afrobeats Song Chart.
Recall, Davido held the record for having the most views on a music video in a 24-hour period with his record-breaking Fem music video, which had 3 million views on YouTube on the first day, as at now the Mavin prince has set another record in the first 24 hours after its release, the video received precisely 3.333,043 million views.
Rema’s Billbiard chart comes a week after Calm Down’ single became a diamond-certified record in France this week.
The news was revealed on Monday in a tweet by French trade body the National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing (SNEP), which certifies music releases.
“Rema’s track ‘Calm Down’ is a diamond-certified single!” the organisation said. “50 000 000 stream equivalents. Bravo!”
The accomplishment arrives two months after the record went platinum in France with more than 30 million streams, which is equivalent to the sale of 200 000 units.
