Rema’s “Calm Down” climbs two spots from its NO. 5 position last week to a new NO. 3 peak in the most recent Billboard Hot 100 (chart week June 17, 2023) and extends its run on the chart to an astounding 40 weeks.

With this amazing achievement, Rema surpasses the highest positions of No. 6, No. 5, and No. 4 that he previously had in Nigeria thanks to his successful collaboration with Selena Gomez.
With his new No. 3 peak, The Mavin Prince is now just one position away from breaking the African record set in 1968 by South African trumpeter Hugh Masekela, whose song “Grazing In The Grass” peaked at No. 1.
Rema’s “Calm Down” is the song leading the charge as Afrobeats continues to rise quickly throughout the world. It shattered barriers in the US where it peaked at No. 1 on the Pop Radio chart and received platinum awards.
The song has achieved remarkable success on the internet, garnering billions of streams across all platforms and topping the list of most-watched Afrobeats music videos on YouTube.
As it continues its unprecedented rise, “Calm Down” is anticipated to contend for the No. 2 position on the Billboard Hot 100 the following week.
