Rema pays respect to the Crown Prince of Benin kingdom
Popular Afrobeats singer and songwriter Rema has returned to his Edo roots following a video making the rounds on social media
In a video, he can be seen greeting the Prince of Benin after his recent performance at the BRIT Awards. It was recently the crown prince’s birthday. His full name is HRH Prince Ezelekhae Ewuare. Edo natives were present, and it’s possible that the film was shot on March 8, 2024, when the event took place.

Rema has also long been a representative of Edo culture. He faced a lot of criticism last year for his overly visual stage design at a show. In self-defense, the artist claimed that he was merely trying to portray his Edo culture, as he usually did.
Fans are anticipating Rema’s release with Shallipopi and his next performance with Amaarae at the Dreamville Festival.
Recall that Rema and Ghanaian artist Amaarae are set to grace the stage at Dreamville Fest this coming April.
Dreamville Festival, curated by the acclaimed hip-hop icon J. Cole and his Dreamville team, promises a weekend filled with outdoor music festivities. Mark your calendars for April 6th to April 7th, 2024. Alongside Rema and Amaarae, the lineup features R&B luminaries such as SZA and Chris Brown, as well as Teezo Touchdown, J.I.D., ScHoolboy Q, Sexyy Red, Nicki Minaj, and Muni Long.
