Rema: I’m scared of romance so I focus on money-making

Rema explains his reasons for being reluctant to embarking on a relationship.
Divine Okunbor, better known by his stage as Rema, explained why he is reluctant to enter a relationship.
In a conversation on Beat 99 FM, The Rave Lord discussed the difficulties in maintaining relationships.
He voiced concern for today’s women and expressed uncertainty about their ability to stay with their relationships during challenging times.
He said: “I feel it’s harder for people like me to be in a relationship.
“Like I tell my guys, I don’t know if people like me are meant to date or marry.
“It’s easier for people who had a day-one beau before they got into stardom.
“So now, I don’t know what their intentions are. It might just be a fantasy. They just want to know what it’s like.
“I don’t even know girls of this generation can stay when there’s a problem and get you through it and then you’ll be back on again.
“And the internet is also scary too. Everybody has a red flag.
“All of a sudden, a relationship is now so complicated even before you get into it.
“So I’m like, ‘Nah!’ I’m focused on my grinding, getting the bag for now.”

During that same interview, Rema confessed that his signature teddy bear played an important role in his formative years.
The Rave Lord explained that after losing his father when he was young, he had few friends and spent a lot of time alone since he did not feel comfortable around large groups of people.
Rema went on to say that he used the money he had gathered from others giving him money at the time to purchase a teddy bear.
He admitted that because so many people do not understand him, he feels more comfortable venting to the stuffed animal in his room.
