I’m not doing music because of money – Rema
Nigerian superstar Divine Ikubor, known professionally as Rema, has asserted that his motivation for making music extends beyond financial gain.
The 21-year-old artist explained that he was financially stable even when he was primarily creating freestyles and sharing them on social media, which ultimately caught the attention of his record label.
During an interview with Korty EO, Rema emphasized that he was financially independent before his music career took off.
He expressed his dedication to music, suggesting that if he had not succeeded in the music industry, he would still be engaged in other endeavours to earn a living, demonstrating a solid work ethic and a passion for his craft.
The ‘Calm Down’ crooner said, “If music didn’t work, I will still be pushing that p in the corner while hustling, you understand.
“Even at that point where I was doing freestyles, I didn’t really need to do a freestyle because I needed money. I had money. I was actually good.”
