Rema discloses that he has never used a songwriter in his life
In a recent statement, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, opened up about the distinct qualities that set him apart from other artists in the Nigerian music scene.
During an interview, Rema candidly revealed that he has never employed the services of a songwriter throughout his musical journey. He explained that every song he has released since gaining recognition has been solely crafted by him. Additionally, he mentioned that he records his songs independently in the studio.
While acknowledging the contribution of producers who create the musical beats for his songs, Rema emphasized that the lyrical content of his tracks is entirely his creation. As an artist signed under Don Jazzy’s record label, he stands firm in his commitment to preserving his individuality by maintaining full creative control over his music.
Rema said; “Everything you have heard all written by me. I’ve never used a songwriter in my life and that is what it is been all about. The only thing I could add in composing a song is just actual producer. Yeah, you know for the beats. But when it comes to like creating, I do my thing a lot. I’m mostly in the studio alone.”
