Rema replies to Bowen University’s efforts to entice him to enrol.
Divine Ikubor, better known by his stage name Rema, has responded to an open invitation from Bowen University, which told the artiste that joining Bowen would shield him from the Academic Staff Union of Universities strike.
Mp3bullet.ng reports that the singer had earlier pleaded with ASUU to call off its ongoing strike.
On Monday, the Lady crooner tweeted that he had yet to begin his studies at the University of Lagos, despite his admission.
“ASUU, since dem give me admission I neva start school o, e don do nau!” he wrote in pidgin.
Rema, who is signed to Jonzing record, a subsidiary of Mavin Records, announced to his fans in January that he had gained admission to the University of Lagos.
However, Bowen University, which is based in Iwo, Osun State, responded to the singer’s tweet by saying that if Rema enrols at the private institution, he will not be affected by the ASUU strike.

Bowen University is a private Baptist Christian Nigerian university owned and operated by the Nigerian Baptist Convention.
ASUU declared a four-week warning strike on February 14, and thereafter extended the action by eight weeks in March.
According to the union, the strike was due to Federal Government’s failure to implement the agreement between both parties, signed in 2009.
