“Very humble guy” – Rema Celebrates P-Square and Music Industry Pioneers.
In a recent interview, Rema expressed his admiration for P-square and some of the pioneers of the early music industry.
The Dumebi breakout sensation gave a lengthy interview about the Afrobeats artists who paved the path for up-and-coming performers like him.
Rema mentioned artists like Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, Teckno, Runtwon, and Timaya in his interview.
He continued by saying that the P-square brothers were the first Nigerian musicians to begin using private aircraft and hosting concerts in international stadiums.
This is evidence of the effort and commitment the Psquare brothers had made to their careers, and Rema found it motivating.
The brothers had taken the Nigerian music industry to a whole new level and Rema had become an admirer of their craft.
In Rema’s words
“We finally got the attention, we have been working so hard, for decades, shout-out to the OGs who have been working like Fela, Don Jazzy, 2Baba, D’banj, D Prince, Wande Coal, Wizkid, Burna and Davido, the likes of Runtown, Tekno, Timaya, there is a whole bunch.
I must add as well P-Square, they were the first to eve start flying private jets before any of us, you know they were the first doing Stadiums and shows before any of us but it had to take generations and generations to start opening doors. I won’t lie when I was getting into the game, I enjoyed the benefits of their hard work and I feel like it’s an unconscious responsibility for me to open doors for te next generation.”
