‘Calm Down’ by Rema has received more than 1 billion streams overall.
Rema has revealed that the streams for his smash hit “Calm Down” has topped 1 billion on all platforms.
On Monday, November 7th, Rema announced that his smash hit track “Calm Down” had received more than one billion plays across all platforms while performing in the UK at the 02 Brixton Arena.
During the show, the DJ announced that there was a surprise for Rema and then revealed that “Calm Down” had hit One billion streams across DSPs.
After being presented with the plaque, Rema told fans;
This’s for you, this is for you. You deserve it. F*cking one billion streams. Look how far I came…I want to say thank you for your support, for your love, thank you so much for believing in my crazy ideas, my crazy sound. First day I came, a lot of people laughed at me, you know, they said I was to different, that my sound was Indian, whatever they called it but each one and every one of you believed in my Indian sound and now look at this boy. ‘Calm Down‘ was released as one of the lead singles from Rema’s debut album ‘Raves & Roses‘ on February 11th, 2022. The song would later gain widespread recognition.
The music video emphasises the song’s success, as it hit 100 million streams only three months after its release.
Similarly, it has earned over 173 million streams on Spotify with tens of millions of streams on Audiomack and Boomplay.
‘Calm Down‘ earned an international remix after American pop artist Selena Gomez added a verse to the song, propelling it even farther into the international spotlight. After the remix, Rema made his Billboard Hot 100 debut, reaching at No. 74 and No. 16 on the UK Official Singles Chart, respectively. Additionally, the remix has received more than 141 million Spotify streams.
The news of ‘Calm Down‘ surpassing over a billion streams across all platforms doesn’t come as a surprise as the song has enjoyed massive success since its release. It has also seen Rema go on tour where he sold out shows across multiple countries and his music has earned him fans.
