Rema discloses his biggest motivation
Nigerian singer Rema opened up about the key factors driving his success and motivation as he breaks the music industry’s boundaries.
During an interview on *The Breakfast Club*, the 24-year-old artist discussed his remarkable career, creative process, and what inspires him to keep pushing forward.
The host asked, “You’ve achieved so much at a young age; what keeps you motivated to push these boundaries in music?”
Rema responded by emphasizing that entering the music industry came with new responsibilities, and his primary motivation is his family and support system.
“My number one drive has always been family,” he said. “I feel like my family has expanded with all the love and support I’ve received in achieving my vision.”

He reflected on how leaving his previous life behind brought a new sense of obligation. “When you leave the hood, the first thing you want to do is take care of your family. But as you step into the game, you realize the many responsibilities that come with being an artist or being the chosen one,” Rema added.
He also expressed deep gratitude for those who helped him reach his dreams, highlighting that his motivation extends beyond just personal goals. “There are different people with different purposes, and when you look around, the people who supported you also have dreams. Sometimes, you take a moment and ask them, ‘What do you want?’ My manager once said, ‘I want to manage the biggest artist out of Africa,’ and I want to make that happen for him.”
Rema concluded by noting that his drive isn’t just about financial gain. “It’s not always about money. Not every responsibility falls solely on me,” he explained, revealing a broader perspective on success and collaboration.
