Rema overtakes Wizkid to become the second-most streamed African artist on Spotify.
Nigerian superstar Rema has surpassed Wizkid, the head of Starboy Entertainment, to become the second most-streamed African Lead Artist of all time on Spotify.
According to estimates and statistics, Nigerian singer and performer Rema is currently the most streamed lead afrobeats artist of all time on the digital streaming platform with over 1.7 billion streams. Afrobeats has had amazing development over the years.
This ranking presents the top Spotify artists based on streams from tracks available inside their personal page’s sections Albums, Singles and Compilations. They are combined together and defined as “Lead streams”.
The highest-ranking position for any Afrobeats and Nigerian artist on the chart is held by Chartmasters Rema, who has over 1,740,235,084 streams across all lead credits, according to the website.
Wizkid comes in second with 1.738,856,303 billion streams on Spotify as well.
In addition, Rema’s album “Rave & Roses” has had more than 1 billion listens on its extreme edition, making it the most-streamed Nigerian album of all time on Spotify.
