Rema beats other African artists to hit 30M Spotify Monthly listeners.
Talented singer and songwriter, Rema has achieved a newsworthy accomplishment on Spotify after he became the first and only African artist to exceed 30 million monthly listeners on the digital streaming platform.
Rema has attained more than 34,000,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, which is a record for an African artist. This is hardly shocking, though, considering the musician had some of the most listened to Nigerian songs on Spotify in 2022 with the release of his debut album, “Rave & Roses.”
Other Nigerian artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Ckay, Tems, and Davido are yet to reach 20M monthly listeners.
From his Rema’s Spotify page, the singer has two songs which have surpassed over 100M streams with Calm Down remix featuring Selena Gomez topping the list with 325, 825, 247 streams and the Original version of “Calm Down” being the second song with over 250M streams.
He is currently ranked at No.84 on Spotify Artistes Ranking Chart (by Listeners).
