Rema and Selena Gomez announce a collaboration
Rema continues to prove that he is a forerunner of the new era of Afrobeats, and he is going to double down on this as he collaborates with Selena Gomez.
Rema, a Mavin starboy and quickly emerging international artist from Edo, has linked up with American popstar Selena Gomez to give fans a pleasant surprise in the shape of a collaboration.
On her Instagram Story, the Rare Beauty mogul posted a black-and-white snapshot of herself smiling ear to ear as she clasps hands with the rising Nigerian Afrobeats star.
While she didn’t offer much context, Gomez did include a colourfully radiating GIF above the photo that reads, “Coming Soon.”
Prior to this declaration, the duo sparked excitement among fans when a video of the two sharing an amorous moment backstage at Rema’s LA show surfaced.
This collaboration will join Rema’s list of international collabs such as Time And Affection with Chris Brown, JAE5’s Dimension, Robinson’s Ayo Girl, Hold Me with 6Lack and others.

Gomez has been teasing her fans about upcoming music for a long now by making references to it in interviews and sharing cryptic TikTok videos from the studio.
Her next project will be the follow-up to her 2020 album Rare and her 2021 Spanish-language EP Revelación, which garnered the singer the very first Grammy nomination of her career for best Latin pop album, even though she has not formally stated that a studio album is in the works.
REMA, on the other hand, released his debut album Rave & Roses in March. The album featured the hits “Soundgasm,” “Calm Down,” and “FYN” with AJ Tracey in addition to other guest appearances by Chris Brown (“Time n Affection”), 6lack (“Hold Me”), and Yseult (“Wine”).
