Current Ghanaian musicians always decline my collaboration proposals – Blakk Rasta cries out.
A Ghanaian reggae performer and presenter named Blakk Rasta has expressed his displeasure with other musicians’ ongoing refusals to collaborate with him.
At the Asaase Radio studios, Blakk Rasta urged musicians to broaden their perspectives and stop disparaging their contemporaries.
Blakk believes that selfishness lies at the core of this issue, stating, “We lack trust in one another. It’s disheartening to see everyone solely focused on their own interests without genuinely supporting each other.”
He stressed to King Lagazee the necessity of a widespread change in the mindset of artists. When approaching musicians for collaboration, the reggae singer was surprised by the surprising responses he got.
“Recently, I reached out to a few artists with collaboration proposals, and their responses were quite surprising,” he lamented.
Blakk claimed that after submitting his tunes to the musicians, despite their initial delight, he never heard from them again.
Blakk confesses that although he has had the chance to collaborate with well-known musicians in the past, he has never been very good at it.
He did, however, attribute the lack of participation to people overestimating themselves and thinking that their involvement in his songs would change the course of history.
