Reekado Banks threatens to reveal the demonic forces within the Nigerian music industry

Nigerian music star Reekado Banks has stirred conversations online with a cryptic post on X, alleging that certain individuals within the music industry are stifling the growth of emerging talents.
In his post, shared on March 25, 2025, the singer described these figures as either “clueless” or “demonic,” accusing them of making poor decisions that derail promising careers.
“One day, I’ll take an interview to talk about someone in the corners of the entertainment industry, who’s either absolutely CLUELESS or plain DEMONIC.
Somehow, the brightest budding talents fall in their lap and either through cluelessness or pure demonic activities, they agree to policies that effectively slow these talents down and for some other talents, frustrate them out of pursuing their dreams. One day…”
While Reekado Banks did not mention names, his statement has fueled speculation among fans, many of whom suspect he is referring to industry gatekeepers responsible for derailing promising careers.

However, his remarks are unlikely to be aimed at his former label, Mavin Records, under which he rose to stardom. In a past interview with Daddy Freeze, Reekado Banks clarified that his departure from Mavin was amicable and praised Don Jazzy for giving him his blessing when his contract ended.
“That man took me from absolutely nothing. I wonder why anyone would think it wasn’t amicable. The end of the contract came, I wanted to leave, and he (Don Jazzy) gave me his blessings.”
While Reekado Banks’ exit from Mavin was smooth, Nigerian music has seen numerous cases of bitter disputes between artists and labels. His recent statement further highlights the ongoing conversation about the challenges many young talents face in the industry.
