Troll tags Reekado Banks ‘failed artiste’ over church visit, he replies

Nigerian singer Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, better known as Reekado Banks, has pushed back strongly against online criticism after a troll mocked him for attending church, suggesting it was because his music career had “faded.”
The drama began when skit maker Kesari revealed on Instagram that he was contemplating whether to commit to Christianity or Islam. Reekado Banks, who has been open about his faith, invited Kesari to join him for church service. Soon after, videos emerged of the two worshipping together, sparking viral conversations across social media.
While many applauded the singer for embracing his spirituality and supporting Kesari’s journey, not everyone shared the sentiment. One troll provoked backlash by writing: “When they fail at music, they start going to church.” The remark quickly stirred mixed reactions, with some fans condemning it as disrespectful.
Reekado Banks, a former Mavin Records star known for hits like Easy (Jeje) and Katapot, refused to stay silent. In a fiery response shared on his social media page, he vented:
“Fcck that nigga whose comment I saw that made me feel down today. My friend called me and told me to delete it. Fcck you!”
His sharp retort has since fueled even more debate online, with conversations ranging from how celebrities navigate faith in the public eye to the persistent issue of online trolling.
For Reekado Banks, however, the message was clear—neither critics nor negativity will deter him from expressing his spirituality.
