The only Nigerian musicians to have significant success in the UK charts are Asake and Burna Boy for this reason.
The only Nigerian musicians to accomplish this incredible achievement on the UK Charts are Asake and Burna Boy.
Asake, a member of the YBNL, has joined Burna as the only Nigerian artists to ever break this record on the UK Charts, barely 24 hours after the release of his second studio album, “Work Of Art.”
With a total of two albums, Asake became the second Nigerian musician after Burna Boy to reach the top spot on the UK Apple Music Top Albums Chart. The YBNL artist accomplished this with his first and second studio albums, “Mr. Money With The Vibe” and “Work Of Art,” which is a remarkable achievement.
‘Work Of Art’ has surpassed the expectations of many with its success on the chart, and it has also solidified Asake’s position in the industry as an artist that is consistent and always creative with his craft. The 14-track album is indeed a work to be admired as contributions from the YBNL boss Olamide as well as other talented individuals alongside the singer, proved essential in creating a project that would be listened to for months and years.
‘Amapiano’ debuted at number 37, ‘Basquiat’ at number 45, ‘2:30’ at number 77, ‘Olorun’ at number 83, and ‘Awodi’ debuted at number 100 on the UK’s Apple Music Top Songs (Daily) Chart.
