The Coachella 2022 Lineup announced, with African Artist Excluded
Even after a successful year for African artists, the lineup for the much-anticipated Coachella 2022 Festival has been announced with a notable absence of African artists.
The list was announced on Thursday, the 13th of January 2022.
The Coachella 2022 lineup has officially been released, and the absence of African artists has sparked some fierce reactions from fans.
Recall, The Coachella festival have had African Artists on their stage in the past. Back in 2019, Burna Boy raised a storm when he was announced on the lineup but his name was written in small fonts.
The issue was eventually resolved, and his name was written exactly the way he desired, and he later performed at the show.

No African performers were added to last year’s program, and given the incredible year that Afrobeats stars had in the previous year, a lot of fans expected to see some African names on the list this year.
The Coachella 2022 Lineup has been released, and African musicians are once again absent from the program, with the exception of iconic South African DJ, Black Coffee.
