Reminisce reasons for taking a hiatus from music are revealed.
Nigerian rapper Remilekun Abdulkalid Safaru, professionally known as Reminisce, has opened up about the reason he took a break from the music scene. Speaking on the Zero Conditions podcast, the “Ponmile” artist revealed that he temporarily stepped away from making music to prioritize his family.
Reminisce had been absent from the music scene for seven years but recently made a comeback with his highly anticipated album, “ATSG, Vol. 1.”
He explained that his dedication to his craft had consumed most of his attention, to the extent that he had failed to notice changes in his home life and had not spent quality time with his children, despite living under the same roof.
His decision to take a break allowed him to reconnect with his family and strike a better balance between his music career and personal life.
He said, “There were times I don’t see my kids for 4 days and we live together. When I get back, they’re in school…
“One of the reasons I actually did take a step back. Let me tell you this story. Some years back, my wife changed the entire set up of our house. It was around that period where I was dropping albums every year and touring.
“My house painting was changed for almost two years and I didn’t notice. That was when I realised that I need to take a step back and be with my family. Family over everything.”
