Qing Madi denies N493 million payday, celebrates concert success
Nigerian singer-songwriter and dancer Qing Madi has addressed reports of her alleged ₦493 million payday for a recent concert in Uganda, seemingly denying the claim.
In a post on her Instagram page, Qing Madi hinted that the reported sum might be exaggerated, writing, “If I were paid as much as she was paid, I would be acting nice, too.” Rather than focusing on the rumors, she highlighted the success of her concert, calling it “the most special day of my musical life” and expressing gratitude to God and the people of Uganda for their support.
The concert, which marked her first major performance since gaining recognition with her 2022 hits “See Finish” and “Ole,” was a sold-out success. Despite initial doubts from some quarters, the 18-year-old artist proved her critics wrong, winning over Ugandan fans.
Earlier, popular Instagram blogger Tunde Ednut claimed Qing Madi was paid $300,000 (around ₦493 million) for the performance, sparking excitement and debate online. However, Qing Madi’s response suggests the actual figure may be lower, with her focus remaining on her musical achievements rather than the speculation surrounding her earnings.
