PSG set to launch sensational £75m bid for Rashford in quest to replace Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are reportedly preparing a £75 million bid for Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford in anticipation of Kylian Mbappe’s potential departure to Real Madrid.
According to the Daily Mirror, PSG is eyeing Rashford as a replacement for Mbappe, who seems poised to make his long-awaited move to Real Madrid. Despite offering Rashford a substantial weekly wage of £400,000 in 2022, PSG failed to secure his signature. However, they are now keen to make another attempt, with Rashford’s current form somewhat underwhelming, having scored seven goals in 27 league games this season.
While Manchester United values Rashford at closer to £100 million, the club’s reduced summer budget due to Financial Fair Play regulations could prompt them to consider a deal. Whether Rashford will be open to leaving remains uncertain.
Despite his recent form, Rashford has demonstrated glimpses of his scoring prowess, notably netting in consecutive games against Manchester City and Everton. United’s ability to negotiate may hinge on their qualification for European competitions, with the team currently sitting sixth in the league, eight points adrift of fourth-placed Aston Villa.
As Rashford aims to continue his scoring streak in the upcoming FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool, his future at Manchester United remains subject to speculation amidst PSG’s reported interest.
