The controversy began when Peter Okoye, known as Mr. P, released “Winning” on Instagram, which led to Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) claiming the song as his own, asserting he wrote and sang it.
Peter responded by releasing a phone conversation with Vampire, confirming the song’s origins and his rights to it, adding, “Person no dey thief him own property! It is well!” He also credited Vampire as the producer and @calypso60music as the co-writer.
Vampire’s statements appear to validate Peter’s stance, indicating that “Winning” was indeed a P-Square project from 2022. Despite Paul’s vow to release original versions of any alleged duplicates, Vampire’s clarification has brought new context to the song’s origins.
