    In an official statement released by the White House, Lil Wayne and Kodak Black alongside 73 others received pardons from Trump.

    The statement came in the late hours of Tuesday as Trump‘s final acts as President.

    Lil Wayne pleaded guilty last month to possessing a loaded, gold-plated handgun.

    This happened when his chartered jet landed in Miami in December 2019.

    He faced a sentence of up to 10 years in prison having served eight months in jail in New York.

    This was after he was convicted of criminal possession of a weapon.

    CNN’s report;

    “President Trump granted a full pardon to Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., also known as ‘Lil Wayne,'” the statement from White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany read. “Mr. Carter pled guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, owing to a conviction over 10 years ago. Brett Berish of Sovereign Brands, who supports a pardon for Mr. Carter, describes him as ‘trustworthy, kind-hearted and generous.'”

    kodak Black on the other hand is in Prison for lying in other to purchase a firearm.

    The 23-year-old was sentenced to 46months in prison for federal weapons charges in 2019.

    However, he admitted to lying on background-check forms while buying multiple firearms.

    CNN’s report;

    “Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was sentenced to more than three years in prison on weapons charges in November 2019. He pleaded guilty in August 2019 to knowingly making false written statements when trying to acquire firearms from a federally licensed firearms dealer. US District Judge Federico Moreno in Miami sentenced Kapri to 46 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.”

    With this good gesture the President displayed, we wish him good luck in his future endeavors.
