Premier League confirm Player of the Month for April 2024
Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer has clinched the title of Premier League Player of the Month for April 2024, as announced by the Premier League.
Palmer’s stellar performance saw him net an astounding seven goals across four games. His remarkable feat included a four-goal spree against Everton, following a hat-trick against Manchester United. Additionally, he contributed an assist during the 2-2 draw with Sheffield United.
This marks Palmer’s debut win of the prestigious award, making him the first Chelsea player to secure the honor since Eden Hazard in September 2018.
His prolific scoring has propelled Palmer into contention for the Golden Boot accolade, while his standout individual season has earned him nominations for both the Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season awards.
Chosen from a shortlist of six candidates, Palmer’s recognition stemmed from a combination of public votes on the EA SPORTS website and evaluations by a panel of football experts.

“What he has achieved is massive,” Pochettino told a press conference on Friday. “He is a winner because the level he has reached is amazing for us, amazing for his teammates and for himself.”
During a recent media appearance, Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly also took the chance to praise Palmer.
“Hopefully, Cole Palmer will become a household name [in the United States] soon,” Boehly said. “He’s been a phenomenon for us and so we’re thinking hard about how we continue to expand our brand in the United States. That’s ultimately a priority as well.”
Palmer’s exceptional season sees him on the verge of breaking a significant club record for most goals scored at home in a single season. Currently, he stands shoulder to shoulder with Chelsea legends Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard, each boasting 16 goals.
With a tally of 24 goals and 13 assists from 42 appearances, Palmer has been a standout performer for Chelsea. All eyes will be on him as he aims to claim the record for himself in Chelsea’s upcoming clash with Bournemouth on the final day of the season.
