After struggling to find his footing at Newcastle United, Harvey Barnes has made a notable comeback in the early part of the 2024/25 season. In September, he scored three goals, finding the net against Tottenham Hotspur, Wolves, and Fulham.
Luis Diaz is among the frontrunners for the monthly award. The Colombian winger has recently hit a scoring streak, netting four goals, including a first-half brace in a dominant 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Another contender from Liverpool is Ryan Gravenberch, who has secured a regular starting position under manager Arne Slot. The Dutch midfielder recorded a league-high 231 passes among his peers and won possession back 29 times throughout the month.
Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes played a key role in his team’s unbeaten run in September. His threat from set pieces was crucial in securing a victory against Tottenham and a draw with Manchester City.
Raul Jimenez also made an impact for Fulham, contributing significantly with three goals and ensuring the team remained undefeated during the month. With this performance, he became only the second Mexican player to reach 50 Premier League goals.
Everton’s hopes of gaining points in September were heavily reliant on Dwight McNeil. The former Burnley winger delivered in crucial moments, scoring twice to secure a vital 2-1 win against Crystal Palace.
Chelsea also remained unbeaten, with Cole Palmer being the primary creative force for the team. The England international finished September with four goals, including a standout performance against Brighton & Hove Albion, and also contributed a goal against West Ham United while assisting in the match against Palace.
Completing the list of nominees is Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins. The 28-year-old forward netted his first four league goals of the season and provided two assists, helping Unai Emery’s team secure two wins and a draw.
Eight standout stars, but only one can win September’s @EASPORTSFC Player of the Month award!

Premier League Manager of the Month shortlist – September 2024
- Enzo Maresca (Chelsea)
- Arne Slot (Liverpool)
- Mikel Arteta (Arsenal)
- Marco Silva (Fulham)
- Unai Emery (Aston Villa)
No team secured more points in September than Chelsea, where Enzo Maresca is starting to find his footing at Stamford Bridge after a challenging beginning. Although the fixture list wasn’t particularly daunting, the team’s improvement was evident in victories over Bournemouth, West Ham, and Brighton, following an initial home draw against Crystal Palace.
Arne Slot’s tenure as Liverpool manager saw its first defeat against Nottingham Forest, but his team remains at the top of the Premier League after a largely successful month. This unexpected loss came after an impressive 3-0 win over Manchester United, but Liverpool rebounded well, comfortably defeating Bournemouth and Wolves afterwards.
Arsenal continued to show progress under Mikel Arteta, employing tactical savvy to secure a win against Tottenham and a draw with Manchester City. The latter match was particularly close, as they almost clinched victory after holding on for much of the second half.
Marco Silva’s Fulham ended the unbeaten streaks of both Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, with Emile Smith Rowe and Raul Jimenez performing well in attack. The Cottagers currently sit sixth in the league and are yet to lose since the season opener.
Completing the shortlist is Unai Emery, whose Aston Villa side is thriving. They recently triumphed over Bayern Munich in the Champions League, securing seven points from three matches, thanks to some dramatic late goals.
