An Abeokuta Magistrate’s Court has adjourned the alleged assault case involving popular Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, until March 26, 2025.

The adjournment was granted following a request by Senior State Counsel Timileyin Oredein, who argued that consolidating the charges against Portable and his employees would ensure a more efficient trial and prevent unnecessary judicial resource wastage.
Portable and nine of his workers were initially arraigned on February 6, 2025, on multiple charges, including conspiracy, assault, unlawful obstruction, and possession of weapons such as cutlasses and a firearm. They are also accused of inciting public disturbance and assaulting three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
The court approved the prosecution’s request and set the next hearing for March 26, where Portable and his employees will face the consolidated charges.
