Controversial singer Portable has weighed in on the ongoing feud between Afrobeats giants Wizkid and Davido, mocking the two for their online clash.
The “Zazoo” crooner took a break from his busy schedule to criticize the artists, accusing them of using their rivalry as a form of fake promotion.
Portable claimed that both stars are relying on their beef to gain attention while boasting that he doesn’t need such tactics to sell his music. He further stated that his own songs are successful without any promotional gimmicks, declaring himself “bigger” than both Big Wiz and OBO.
In a post, Portable wrote:
“DON’T USE YOUR BROTHER TO SHINE. SHINE BY YOURSELF. UNA SONGS NO DEY MARKET AGAIN, NA FIGHT UNA DEY USE DO PROMOTION. LET’S FORGET FAKE PROMOTION, I GET HIT SONGS O. PORTABLE IS BIGGER THAN THEM. WHO IS BIG IS BIG. WE NO GATHER DEY, NA ONLY ME DEY. GOD DEY. OMOLALOMI CHOSEN ONE.”
His remarks have sparked reactions across social media, adding to the ongoing debate between the fanbases of the two Afrobeats icons.
Recall, Wizkid escalated his ongoing feud with fellow Afrobeats star Davido, using social media to assert his perceived superiority over his rival in a string of personal attacks.
The “Essence” hitmaker has been directing jabs at Davido for hours, although the root cause of the dispute remains unclear.
In a recent post, Wizkid outlined the reasons he believes he is better than Davido. He boasted about being surrounded by “broke boys who worship him” and went on to comment on how the wealthy have weaponized poverty, implying that he stands above such practices.
