Portable Begs EFCC and GTBank to Release VeryDarkMan After Reported Arrest

Nigerian street-hop singer Portable has publicly pleaded with the EFCC and GTBank to release controversial online personality VeryDarkMan, who was reportedly arrested after visiting a GTBank branch.
In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Portable emphasized that despite occasional disagreements with VeryDarkMan, he still regards him as a friend and a generous individual who actively supports others:
“Please, because of God. Please free VeryDarkMan, he is my friend. He gives people food, he helps a lot of people. I love people who help people.”
Portable also called for calm among the public and discouraged any backlash against GTBank, saying:
“Don’t remove your money from GTBank.”
The circumstances of VeryDarkMan’s arrest remain unclear, with neither GTBank nor the EFCC officially confirming the reason or status of his detention.
Nonetheless, the incident has sparked widespread reactions and growing support for his release from celebrities like Davido, Portable, and his online fan base.
Please help us free Verydarkman, he’s my friend, he helps people, he gives people food” – Portable.

Recall, Portable sparked intense online debate after posting a viral video alleging that his First Bank account is inaccessible, despite still receiving deposits.
In a rare display of composure, the Zazoo Zeh crooner urged the bank to urgently resolve the issue, emphasising that he fears going to the bank physically due to the recent arrest of online activist Verydarkman (VDM) at a GTBank branch.
