Drama Unfolds as Portable Demands More Money from Ric Hassani Over ‘4x2x16’ Collaboration

Controversial street-hop artist Portable, born Habeeb Olalomi Badmus, is back in the headlines, locking horns with fellow Nigerian singer Ric Hassani over their recent joint track, 4x2x16.
The Zeh Nation boss recently took to social media with a flurry of videos expressing his dissatisfaction regarding the financial terms of his contribution to the song, which has been gaining notable traction online since its release.
According to Portable, his manager brokered the initial agreement for the feature. However, now that the song is enjoying rising success, the singer insists he deserves more than what was initially agreed upon. He’s publicly demanding an extra ₦5 million from Ric Hassani and also threw in an unusual request for Canadian loud street slang for premium marijuana.
He didn’t stop there. Portable referenced his 2023 collaboration with British-Nigerian rapper Skepta, claiming that Skepta had personally called to commend his performance, something he believes Ric Hassani has failed to do or acknowledge.
“Don’t underrate me,” Portable warned in one of his posts, insisting his role in the song’s popularity should not be diminished or overlooked.
The episode has sparked a wave of mixed reactions online. While some music lovers criticized Portable for what they consider an unprofessional and greedy outburst, others faulted Ric Hassani for teaming up with an artist well-known for courting controversy and speaking without filter.
Despite the drama, 4x2x16 continues to perform well across streaming platforms, drawing attention both for its sonic appeal and the public spat between its collaborators. While Ric Hassani remains tight-lipped, Portable’s antics have ensured the track stays in the public eye true to his reputation for turning controversy into currency.
