Portable opens up on feud with Davido, blames Zlatan’s call for rift
Controversial singer Habeeb Olalomi Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has shed light on the fallout between him and Afrobeats star Davido. In a recent interview on Echo Room, Portable revealed that their relationship began to deteriorate after fellow artist Zlatan Ibile came between them.
Earlier in the year, while on his U.S. tour, Portable met and spent time with Davido, who even gifted him a pair of sneakers. However, things took a turn when Portable accused Zlatan on social media of spreading false information to damage his bond with Davido.
According to Portable, during his time in the U.S., Davido invited him to hang out, but Zlatan allegedly warned Davido to be cautious about associating with him.
After days of public outbursts accusing Zlatan of sabotaging his relationship with Davido, Portable eventually apologized to both artists in an attempt to repair the strained relationship.
This isn’t the only conflict Portable has faced in 2024. Earlier in the year, he was embroiled in a widely-publicized dispute with socialite Bobrisky and only recently settled differences with musician Goya Menor after a disagreement over the 2022 Headies Best Street Pop Award.
Despite the controversies, Portable continues to focus on his music, recently releasing a new single titled “Oriade,” which he performed during his Echo Room interview.
