Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has reportedly welcomed a new baby while still in detention over ongoing criminal charges.

Barely five days after the singer was remanded in custody, reports emerged that his first wife, Omobewaji, put to bed, marking a bittersweet moment for the street-hop artiste.
Portable was arraigned on Monday, January 12, 2026, before a Federal High Court in Ogun State, where he faced a nine-count criminal charge.
During the proceedings, the presiding judge declined to grant him bail, citing the absence of the police officer allegedly assaulted by the singer, who was expected to be present in court.
Following the hearing, the court ordered that Portable be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case to January 19, 2026, for the consideration of his bail application.
Meanwhile, sources revealed that the news of his newborn child has since been communicated to the singer behind bars.
According to reports, Portable received the update with excitement and has expressed strong eagerness to secure his freedom so he can meet his baby for the first time.
Portable’s current legal troubles are said to be linked to an earlier incident involving one of his wives, Ashabi Simple, during which the singer allegedly assaulted a police officer.
As the case continues, fans and followers remain divided, with many sending congratulatory messages over the birth while others await the court’s next decision on his fate.
