Why I refused to pray with my cellmates – Portable recounts prison experience

Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has opened up about his recent time in prison, sharing details of his experience behind bars.
Speaking on The Echooroom Podcast, the street-hop artist recalled being locked up in Cell 4 with accused criminals after his arrest for assaulting Ogun State government officials.
“When I got into the cell, I blessed my cellmates with money. I didn’t carry cash in, but we were able to withdraw money na.”
Portable also revealed that new inmates were usually beaten upon arrival but claimed his presence changed the dynamic, as the marshall (a leader in the cell) stepped down for him.
“I reminded myself that this was not my house; I was surrounded by different kinds of men.”
Portable recalled being asked to join a prayer session with his cellmates but refused, questioning the effectiveness of their prayers.
“One person said he had killed someone, another said two, and another three. As I haven’t killed anyone, our prayers can’t work together.”

In the same interview, Portable addressed his ongoing feud with socialite and crossdresser Bobrisky, claiming his criticism is meant to make Bobrisky change his ways.
“Bobrisky is my friend, and I want him to change. That’s why I always insult him.”
The singer further stated that he would never give Bobrisky money, as he believes his lifestyle is against God’s will.
“If you want to be a woman, be a woman. If you want to be a man, be a man. But you are a man, Bobrisky.”
Portable’s latest remarks have sparked reactions online, with fans divided over his blunt approach to controversial topics.
